Moving out of a rental where a pet has lived? Somewhere in the vacate checklist your agent has probably asked for a professional flea treatment — and proof it was done. That’s this service: we treat the property, and we email you the paperwork the same day, ready to hand your property manager. Family-owned, more than 20 years in Melbourne homes, over 400 five-star Google reviews, phones answered 7am to 9pm, seven days — (03) 9436 0883.
Moving is a scheduling nightmare: removalists, cleaners, the final inspection, key handover. This is the one job you can lock in from a packing box at 9pm — book online, pick the exact date that fits your handover, and it’s done. Most renters book us for their final day or the day before, after the removalists and cleaners have been through. If the plan changes, call us and we’ll move with you.
The most common (and most expensive) mistake is doing things in the wrong order. Here’s the sequence that works:
Aim to have the treatment done one or two days before your final inspection, on an empty property. That’s exactly why the online booking works so well here — you can pin it to the right day in the sequence.
Here’s the honest answer most companies won’t give you. In Victoria you’re required to leave the property reasonably clean and in the same condition as when you moved in, allowing for fair wear and tear — and where pets have left fleas, hair or lingering odours, your rental provider can require professional treatment or cleaning to bring the property back to that standard. It’s not an automatic legal rule for every pet owner — but most agents request it whenever pets have been kept, and a professional treatment with a dated receipt is the simplest way to make sure fleas and eggs left behind by your pet don’t cost you at the final inspection or in a bond dispute.
You’re not really buying dead fleas — you’re buying proof for your bond. On completion we email you a detailed receipt for the treatment: the property address, the date, what was treated, and who did the work. Want it to go straight to your property manager as well? Give us their email when you book and we’ll send it directly — one less thing on your list.
We treat the interior — carpets, floor edges and the areas fleas and their eggs actually hide — with products that kill adult fleas and stop the eggs and pupae hatching in the weeks after you leave. That last part matters: flea eggs can sit dormant in carpet and hatch when a warm body walks back in, which is exactly when the incoming tenant complains and your bond gets questioned. If your dog lived mostly outside, tell us when you book — yards, kennel areas and subfloors can be included, quoted over the phone.
If you manage rentals across Melbourne’s north and west, we make the end-of-lease flea treatment the easiest line on your vacate checklist: tenants book online for their handover date, the treatment is done by licensed technicians, and the receipt lands in your inbox the same day. Call (03) 9436 0883 and ask about setting up a referral arrangement for your office.
Usually your agent will still ask for it, and there’s real logic behind that: flea eggs travel on shoes, clothes and pet bedding, and they can lie dormant in carpet for months — no visible fleas today doesn’t mean none in a month, when the property is sitting empty and warm. If your lease and agent require it, the treatment plus receipt is far cheaper than a bond dispute.
After the removalists and after the carpet steam cleaning, ideally one to two days before your final inspection. Never before the steam clean — steam strips the treatment out and the job has to be redone.
Treatment usually takes under an hour for a typical rental, and the property should be left empty for two to four hours while it dries. Plan it so the drying window doesn’t collide with your key handover — or just book us for the day before.
Yes — a detailed receipt emailed the same day, showing the property address, treatment date and what was done. Most agents ask to see exactly this when pets have been kept. We can also email it straight to your property manager.
You can, but it usually doesn’t end well: flea bombs don’t stop eggs and pupae hatching later, they miss the carpet edges where fleas actually live, and — decisively — agents don’t accept a supermarket receipt as proof of professional treatment. If the treatment is being required, it needs to be done by a licensed operator.
Where pets have left fleas, hair or odours, yes — Victorian renters must return the property to its move-in condition, fair wear and tear aside, and professional treatment can be required to get it there. It’s not automatic for every pet owner, but in practice most agents ask whenever a pet has been kept, and the treatment is cheap insurance against losing part of your bond.
Book online and pick your handover day, call (03) 9436 0883 (7am–9pm, seven days), or send us an enquiry. Getting bites but there’s no pet in the house? That might not be fleas at all — see our bed bug page. And if you’d rather bundle the flea job with a full end-of-lease pest treatment, ask when you call.
